The Day After…

The next few days are very important! Your body has been taking in less food and you will get full quicker, therefore, it is important to introduce your whole foods slowly.  Continuing with a smoothie in the morning, juice during lunch with a lean protein, and green tea throughout the day. Dinner may consist of steamed veggies and lean protein. I opt for veggie soup with beans or sometimes salmon with steamed veggies. I try not to mix my protein and starches, because of the way both digest together.  It’s like a tug of war in my stomach when I combine the two. It always slows my digestive process down leaving me feeling tired and bloated!  My rule of thumb is protein with low starch veggies or veggies with starches such as whole grains, sweet potatoes, or beans, which are also my main source of protein. You may not experience this,but it’s food for thought;-) Health is wealth!
