So, I woke up this morning and got ready to start my day.  Decided to wear a favorite pair of jeans that I hadn’t worn in awhile.  Pressed them up, found a really cute shirt to go with them, and…they were TOOOOO tight!! What!! I instantly went into my extreme way of thinking, cutting out every and all foods that I thought I might eat for the holidays. All of you know that I am passionate about my health but this is about vanity(those jeans really look good on me) which takes this situation to another level! At least I can admit it 😉

As I was sorting through my mind of all the foods that I would restrict myself from eating, I paused and thought to myself, “Is this a healthy way of thinking about having good food during good times?” Should I allow my inner food police to inhibit me from having a good time with my family just because my ego wants to fit into those jeans? I’m not the only one that has a food police during these times, but if you eat well year round you don’t have to police the food that you may indulge in for the holidays. I found that my indulgences tend to be less indulgent because of preference not policing.  I have learned to love foods that love me back. My family understands this and if I don’t bring a dish of my own they always have a few for me to choose from.  And sometimes I eat things that I may not eat on a regular during the holidays, as long as it doesn’t compromise how I feel at the end of the day.

So what does this have to do with those skin tight jeans? Everything and nothing!! It’s really not about the jeans but how I began to look at the foods that I wasn’t going to allow myself to eat during the holidays because of my added inches.  I know exactly what to do to get into those jeans with ease, more juicing more yoga. I also know that good food, good times, and good health can all unite during this season. It’s really how we eat year round that influences health and weight.  So relax, and be MERRY… Health is wealth!

Do you think you can have a good time eating good food and still be healthy during the holidays?

It all comes down to loving, laughing and moving a little more, so you can truly enjoy all the aspects of family, friends, food and fellowship, year round!

Yes I think so because if you love yourself you will always do what’s best for your body.
