Fresh Pressed Yoga Family,

I had a conversation with a young lady at the holistic store the other day about eating meat. She is a raw foodist, which means she doesn’t eat any animal products nor does she eat cooked food. I practice eating raw food 80% of the time.  Three weeks has been the longest that I have gone without cooking my food.  There’s only so many ways to prepare walnuts and such;-0  That being said,   our conversation got really deep, which brought me to ask these questions…..1)Is eating meat unethical?  2)What is “Ethical Eating”? I’m still recalibrating my thoughts on both of these questions. I’m curious to get your take. Health is Wealth!!!

Tiesha, I just want to say that I don’t think that eating meat is unethical. On another note, I am so glad that I have started drinking your smoothies/juices four times a week! I have really noticed a difference in my energy level-especially with the carrot, mango and orange combination! I have been recommending your smoothies/juices to others and I am sure that your business will be taking off very soon! Thanks for reminding me that, Health is Wealth!

There are a lot of things in this world that can be considered unethical, but is eating meat one of them? Personally, I don’t think it is. However, I do believe that eating meat is unnecessary. Humans can survive quite nicely without it.

Not sure if It’s unethical, but it messes with the body’s natural purging.

Unethical in my opinion, is a strong label to put on a person’s eating habits. Although I feel that it is a strong label, I do believe that our bodies were not made to digest meat. Think about the last time that you ate some and how long the feeling of it sitting on your stomach lasted. I do not like that feeling which is one of the reasons I don’t eat it anymore. I will express more this weekend;-) Health is Wealth!!!

I don’t think it’s unethical, although ethics is def a personl matter. But, I think meat is unhealthy today, in the manner in which it’s manufactured. Animals are fed and injected with all types of hormones and and unnatural things that in turn, humans turn around and consume. Rememember, you are what you eat. So those same hormones that the chicken has been injected with, float around in you. If I could raise my own animals and know what was going in them I would eat meat. OK lady, I’m done…LOL!

I think that unethical is a strong word choice, but I do believe that because we are the highest on the pyramid that we shouldn’t reduce ourselves down to an animals level. Okay, that last part probably sounds a little harsh, but hopefully you know what I mean. I was also thinking if it was just as unethical to wear leather shoes, coats, etc… Hmmmmm….I thought about this as I was putting on my skin tight leather pants last weekend;-) I’ll be expressing myself more this weekend.
